Cosmetic Bonding to replace a tooth
My tooth broke off and I was humiliated. I felt like I was less of a person. Dr Grafton talked to me about my options, besides wearing a mask forever. I learned about implants, dentures, and bridges. Dr Grafton suggested another option: cosmetic bonding. The broken tooth had a root canal treatment, so he explained that it didn’t need an extraction. The replacement bonded tooth could be constructed over the retained tooth root. That way my gums and bone wouldn’t shrink. He removed an old composite filling first, and put on a rubber sheet to keep everything clean and dry. He fastened a very strong mylar ribbon to the back of my two teeth and then sculpted a new tooth to that ribbon. It only took that morning to finish, I wasn’t numb, and I look like my own self again.
Gap/Diastema Closure with Bonding
This patient had a gap between her teeth and wanted it filled in. With our composite filling materials we were able to make the space disappear by adding to both adjacent teeth. This procedure was completed with no anesthetic in about 30 minutes, and the result is a natural looking smile with no gap.
